The procurement thresholds have been changed by Act 1189 0f 2013. (See An Act to Amend Provisions of the Arkansas Code Concerning Procurement Laws as they Relate to Minority Vendors; and for Other Purposes. http://www.arkleg.state.ar.us/assembly/2013/2013R/Acts/Act1189.pdf ).
Procurement thresholds have been raised to $10,000 and $50,000. In response to this change, the AASIS purchasing approval process for outline agreements and purchase orders is being updated. The threshold increases do not apply to capital improvement projects.
The required levels of approval in AASIS are dependent on the document type and procurement code entered in the Our Reference field. New procurement codes to be used by all AASIS users may be found by clicking on the Long text icon in the Our Reference field or on the OSP website under Guidelines.
These new codes are effective August 16, 2013.
A list of all allowed procurement codes, code descriptions, and their proper use can be found at http://www.dfa.arkansas.gov/offices/procurement/Documents/procurementCodes.pdf
