Description

The act of processing transaction HRBEN0014 (Termination of Plan Participation) creates a new record with option OPT9 for cancellation for one or both of the infotypes IT0167 (Health Plan) and IT0168 (Insurance Plan).  No infotype refund records should be created in IT0377 (Miscellaneous Plans) when coverage is cancelled.

 

Because option OPT9 has no associated cost, the deductions end on the new record start date.  For example, when an employee cancels health plan coverage effective 3/31/2011, a new IT0167 health plan record is created with a start date of 2/20/11, an end date of 3/31/2011, and the health plan option OPT9.  As of 2/20/11 (pay period 5/2011), the employee owes no deduction and is covered by the plan through 3/31/2011.
