Business areas 480 (Department of Correction) and 485 (Department of Community Correction) have been granted exceptions that authorize promotions in lieu of merit increases. New merit codes developed for this purpose create a record in infotype 0381 (Compensation Eligibility) but result in no monetary payment.

Things you should know
· These new merit codes are restricted to business areas 480 and 485, so attempted use by other agencies produces the error message, “Not a Valid Score For This Agency.”
· The standard default value NOEV (No Evaluation) is not a valid score. If left unchanged when updating records for merit processing, NOEV produces the error message, “Select a Valid Score.”
