    Initial issuance of Drivers Licenses and ID cards will require real time verification of Social Security Numbers and Immigration Documentation. Requirements are also to retain all information in the Office Driver Services used as proof of legal presence and identity.

  • Act 136
    New CDL Hazmat endorsements and renewal of a Hazmat endorsement must undergo a Transportation Safety Administration fingerprint based background check prior to receiving a CDL with Hazmat endorsement. TSA must certify that the Hazmat applicant is not a security threat before a State can issue the Hazmat endorsement.

    Reportable accidents to Safety Responsibility have changed from damage amounts of greater than $500.00 to damage amounts greater than $1,000.00.

    This act removes the requirement for vehicle number identification (VIN) verification except for out of state vehicles with a salvage or similarly branded title or bonded titles.     Did you know that these laws are frequently misunderstood?

  • Drivers may turn right at a red light after coming to a complete stop, and entering the intersection for the purpose of making a right hand turn only, unless there is a sign prohibiting the turn.
  • Drivers must always use headlights when using windshield wipers.
  • The seller/transferor of a vehicle must print the buyer’s/transferee’s name in the assignment section on the back of a certificate of title and the seller and buyer must sign and print their names in the appropriate sections of the title assignment.
