August is “Child Support Awareness Month” in Arkansas
Office of Child Support Enforcement collects more than $274 million annually
LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (August 7, 2026) – Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a proclamation highlighting August as Child Support Awareness Month in Arkansas. Arkansas’ Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE), a division of the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), will bring attention to the importance of child support throughout the month.
OCSE has 26 offices throughout Arkansas. OCSE can work with child support programs in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, three US Territories, 63 Native American Tribes, and more than 50 nations to establish and collect child support.

“The Office of Child Support Enforcement collects more than $274 million annually,” said DFA Secretary Jim Hudson. “This is money that ensures Arkansas’ children have the resources they need to thrive. From the LEARNS Act to funding new school lunch and breakfast programs, this Proclamation is one more example of her Administration’s commitment to the next generation of Arkansans.”
OCSE does not represent the custodial party or the noncustodial parent. The office establishes and enforces court orders, so children receive the financial and medical support they need.
A study found the number of children living in poverty nationwide would have been seven percent higher if those families had not received child support.
