  Life Insurance Open Enrollment Announced

  Health Insurance Representatives (HIR): ARBenefits and the State of Arkansas are proud to partner with Colonial Life to offer Group Term Life with Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance to Arkansas State and Public School Employees effective January 1, 2020. 

  We are pleased to announce a special open enrollment for Group Term Life with AD&D insurance starting Tuesday, December 3, 2019 and continuing through Friday, December 13, 2019. Active employees will be able to enroll or make changes to the following:

  • Basic Life with AD&D insurance;
  • Enhanced Basic Life with AD&D insurance; and
  • Supplemental Life with AD&D insurance with spouse and dependent child options.

  Employees will have the ability to enroll and designate beneficiaries with ease via an online portal with Colonial Life. Further details including the link to the online portal, rates, and a paper enrollment form are coming and will be available prior to the start of the enrollment period.

  Exclusively during this 2019 special enrollment, active employees will have the opportunity to elect Supplemental Life with AD&D insurance on a guaranteed issue basis (without health questions) up to $100,000. Eligible spouse and dependent child Supplemental Life with AD&D coverage will be offered without health questions up to $10,000.

  Securian Financial is still the State’s life insurance provider through 12/31/19. However, please do not submit any open enrollment changes using Securian forms.
