Tax filing season is officially open in Arkansas. The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) is now accepting individual income tax returns. The federal government also began accepting income tax returns today (January 27). The deadline to file on the state and federal level is April 15, 2025.

DFA processed 1,517,637 individual income tax returns in 2024, an increase of 59,000 returns over the previous year. From the 1,517,637 returns, a total of 1,026,880 refunds were issued. Approximately 93% of state income tax returns were filed online in 2024, while the remaining 7% were paper copies mailed to the Department.

Taxpayers can check the status of a refund at ATAP – Refund Check.
