Program Description
The Byrne JAG program allows state and local governments to support a broad range of activities in addressing drug control and the prevention of violent crime. The SDCEP fund was created by Arkansas statute solely for multi-jurisdictional drug crime task forces (DTFs) to investigate and prosecute drug crimes within the State of Arkansas. The Arkansas Alcohol and Drug Abuse Coordinating Council will not give priority consideration for requests for “evidentiary purchases of controlled substances or information” or “Informant and witness compensation.” Restrictions on the use of the SDCEP funds previously awarded still remains.
Additional information regarding the JAG funding can be found at:

Information on uses for the SDCEP Fund can be found at:

Eligible Program Participants
Priority will be given to established Drug Task Forces (DTF) to enhance interagency coordination and intelligence while facilitating multi-jurisdictional criminal investigations. Successful applicants will work cooperatively to detect, disrupt, and/or dismantle criminal drug-trafficking and gang organizations and meet the federal project goals.
Special Instructions
Budget Information: Due to the limited amount of available funds in the Byrne JAG grant, the 2017-18 DTF awards will be funded from the Federal Byrne-Jag (JAG), the State Drug Enforcement and Prosecution Grant (SDCEP) and the Drug Crime Fee (DCF) funds. Awards will not be considered for more than the total funding for the DTFs for the period beginning July 1, 2016. Therefore, requested budgets for 2017-18 should not exceed the DTF's 2016-17 Byrne-JAG/SDCEP and DCF total awards. The match requirements are as follows, the local match is 10% for Byrne-JAG/SDCEP and the local match for DCF is 20%.
